Dec. 17, 1923 Enlarging, copying, and reducing.- Apparatus of the kind described in Specification 8911/12 comprises an easel 54 for the sensitive surface, a camera 1 on one side of an apertured partition 4 separating studio 5 and dark room 6, an easel 17* on the other side of the partition for the negative or object to be copied, and a holder 40 for the source of light 51, the four parts being supported on separate tables so as to be slidable towards or away from the partition. The easel 54 carries a board 58 slidably supporting in horizontal guides 59 a board 60 adapted to receive a carrier 61 for the sensitive surface. Screw and slot connections between the board 58 and main frame 54 permit limited rotary movement of the carrier. The camera frame 1 is connected bv bellows 2 to the partition 4, and is mounted on a vertically-adjustable stem 11. The lens board 16 is removably mounted in a carrier 15 held in the frame 1 by a plate 13 which is detachable so that the carrier 15 may be reversed. The easel 17* carries a condenser 36 and is mounted on a vertically-adjustable stem 33; it slidably supports in vertical guides a frame 22 supporting in horizontal guides 23 a frame 24 in which is rotatably mounted a circular panel 26 having an opening 27 to receive either a transparency carrier provided with a holder for a mask or vignette, or a block carrying a board to which a picture to be copied may be secured by hinged flaps and buttons. The source of light 51 is carried on a rod 50 adjustable on the depending part of a rod 47 which supports a reflector 52 carrying a diffusing-screen 53. The rod 47 is horizontally and rotatably adjustable in a sleeve 45 carried by a vertically and rotatably adjustable stem 44. The table 39 is situated in the position shown when copying a transparency, and is moved round the table 20 to bring the source of light to one side of the easel 17* when copying an opaque original. In a modification the socket 45 of the rod 47 supporting source of light is adjustably mounted on the easel 17*. Modified forms of plate or like carriers for the easels 17* and 54 are described.
