782,482. Motor vehicle frames. DAIMLER-BENZ AKT.-GES. Dec. 6, 1955 [Dec. 6, 1954], No. 34980/55. Class 79(4) [Also in Group XXXII] An underfloor structure particularly for an omnibus comprises longitudinals 6, 7 formed by upper and lower tubular chord members 15, 17 and 16, 18 (Fig. 2), preferably welded to dished plates 19, 20, the floor 21 being secured to the members 15, 16. In the regions of the suspensions the longitudinals are of box-section (Fig. 5), which comprises upper chord members 16, 16a and lower chord members 18, 18a held in spaced relationship by reinforced plate members. The transverse members 8 to 14 are of similar crosssection to that of the longitudinals shown in Fig. 2 except that between the longitudinals the transverse members are of box section (Fig. 4) comprising dished plates 27, 27a having further depressions 37 which are welded together. The upper edges of the plates 27, 27a are welded to the plate member 22 forming the lower wall of a ventilating duct 23 (Fig. 2), and the lower edges are secured to a channel shaped cover plate 39.
