780,882. Signs. CRANFIELD, H. S. and SUPERSINE CO., Ltd. April 23, 1956 [April 22, 1955], No. 11689/55. Class 3(2) A sign is manufactured from a rigid stencil 4 and a transparent or translucent backing sheet 5 of thermoplastic material which, by means of a vacuum frame 6, 7 is urged into the pierced portion of the stencil so as to stand proud thereof. The vacuum frame may incorporate filler blocks 8 for forming a recess in the sheet 5, the base of the recess being painted to'resemble the member 4. Alternatively, the blocks 8 may be made of the same material as the member 4 and be incorporated in the finished sign at the requisite depth. The members 4, 5 may be contrastingly coloured and the member 4 may be made of aluminium.
