[Also in Group XVIII] A powder dispenser, securable to a carton 7 by resilient, spring catch, clip or hook means, comprises an enclosure with an inlet aperture 10 and an outlet 11 and one or more partitions 13 dividing the enclosure into substantially separate compartments, the compartment nearest the inlet receiving powder when the carton is first tipped and delivering it into the second compartment when the carton is re-erected, ready for discharge when the carton is next tipped. The form shown in Fig. 1 has two partitions 12, 13, an extension 6 engaging the top of a carton 7 and pins 8 engageable by an elastic band 9 stretched. round the carton. A telescopically-fitted box 24, Fig. 6, may be provided for varying the quantity dispensed and slots 16 for the band 9 extend beyond the edges of the box so that the band holds it in adjusted position. In a modification of the form shown in Fig. 6, the enclosure is formed by three tubular members nested together. To prevent the powder from caking in the corners of a compartment, the bottom of the enclosure may be sloped as shown in Fig. 11 or maybe of semicircular form. A tube 32 may be rigidly connected to the dispenser, the tube being sloped at 33 for piercing the carton and having an annular groove 34, or a screw thread, for engaging the edges of the pierced hole. A flap as shown at 37 in Fig. 11 may be fitted on the dispensers. The dispenser may be made from sheet cardboard, wood, metal or plastic, or be moulded from plastic and may be transparent. Two forms of a blank made from cardboard sheet suitably cut, creased and scored are described. A layer of felt or rubber may be used to form a seal between the dispenser and the carton wall.
