Abstract

779,973. Filing papers. ADDRESSOGRAPH MULTIGRAPH, Ltd. March 28, 1956 [Sept. 7, 1955], No. 25636/55. Class 146(1). [Also in Group XVI] A device for printing information on a plurality of different forms 32 and for holding completed forms together comprises a folder 3, 4 for holding the forms and a printing plate 11 releasably secured to the folder and having the information embossed thereon. The folder consists of a piece of cardboard folded along a line 2, the front cover 3 being cut along the lines 5 and 7 and the cut portion 3A being secured to the back cover 4. Slots 9 and 10 are also provided in the covers 3, 4. The part 3A has two apertures therethrough spaced apart a distance slightly greater than the width of the printing plate 11 which is provided with side tongues for co-operation with the apertures so that it may be mounted on the part 3A. One tongue of the plate 11 is provided with a hole therethrough for a wire so that the plate may later be attached to some other object. On the front of the front cover 3 a space is provided for displaying the information embossed on the plate 11. The machine for printing from the device comprises platform 16 carried on a base 21 to which is pivoted a hand-operated platen 22. The platen 22 co-operates with an inked ribbon 19A. The edges 3B and 3C of the device are slid along guides 27, 28 between the base 21 and the ribbon 19A with the printing plate 11 face upwards. The form 32 to be printed upon is positioned by means of guides 29 also the ribbon 19A and the platen 22 is lowered and pressed thereon.
