Abstract

777,888. Boxes. KIGU, Ltd. Feb. 28, 1956 [May 3, 1955], No. 12816/55. Class 18. [Also in Group XXV] A box such as a compact has an externally fitted holder for a lipstick &c. which also acts as a fastener for the hinged lid. In one embodiment the holder 1 is mounted on an element 27 having a portion entering a slot 30 in the box body 16 and embracing a spring pin 29. The element 27 also has a lip engaging a projection 12 on the lid 11. To open the box, the holder is pressed downwards against resistance of the spring. In another embodiment, Figs. 1-5 (not shown) the fastening element is integral with the holder and the spring has an arm located along an adjacent box side so that it is subjected to torsion when the holder is depressed.
