Abstract

777,190. Vehicle wheels. DAIMLERBENZ AKT.-GES. July 28, 1955 [Aug. 3, 1954], No. 21812/55. Class 144 (1). A wheel cover disc 10 is detachably secured on a wheel by a plurality of holders 3 attached to the wheel disc 1, each holder comprising a radially outwardly projecting lip 12 against which a beaded or bent-over edge or portion of the cover 10 is pressed by the enlarged head of radially displaceable, spring- loaded plunger 6 of the holder 3 disposed outboardly of the lip 12. Three such holders 3 may be used each comprising a plunger housing riveted to the wheel disc. As shown the plungers 6 each have a coned or crowned head, and a shank 5 which projects through the radially inner ends of the housing 3 and is fitted with an end washer 9 to limit the outward displacement of the plunger by the helical spring 7.
