776,987. Air and waste gases, purifying. UPTON, J. A. and WRIGHT, A. A. Sept. 26, 1955 [Oct. 7, 1954], No. 28868/54. Class 126 [Also in Group XIII] A filter for removing dust &c. from hot air rising from water heaters comprises filter cloth interposed between two wire gauze sheets. In the form shown, gauze bowls 1, 3 with reinforcing rings 4, 5 enclose an intermediate bowl 2 which comprises a layer of filter cloth attached to a frame composed of a ring 8 and bracing, strips attached to it. The ring 4 has inwardly projecting lugs which engage the water heater, and outwardly projecting lugs which support the rings 5, 8. The bowls 1, 2, 3 are held together by a nut 15 and screw 13 which has associated spacing washers 12 and a flange 14 to rest on the heater.
