Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0776730/IV(b)/1> wherein R is an alkyl, aryl or aralkyl radical and their preparation by reacting, preferably at a temperature of 50-250 DEG C., 3-sulphanilamido -6-chloropyridazine with an alkali metal alcoholate or phenolate resulting from the reaction of an alcohol or phenol of the formula ROH and an alkali metal. Examples describe the preparation of sulphanilamido pyrazines of the above general formula in which R is methyl, ethyl, propyl, isopropyl, hexyl, phenyl, benzyl and b -phenylethyl. Starting material. 3-Sulphanilamido-6-chloropyridazine is obtained by reacting 3 : 6-dichloropyridazine with sulphanilamide, preferably at 130 DEG C. to 220 DEG C. in the presence of an acid acceptor.
