775,412. Fuel consumption indicators. SOC. D'APPAREILS DE CONTROLE ET D'EQUIPEMENT DES MOTEURS S.A.C.E.M. Sept. 16, 1955 [Nov. 2, 1954], No. 26619/55. Class 106 (3). In an indicator of the instantaneous fuel consumption of an internalcombustion engine of the kind where the pressure in the induction pipe downstream of the throttle is utilized in the measurement as, for example in Specification 764,857, the pressure is compared with a pressure other than atmospheric to avoid altitude errors. As shown, the induction pipe pressure or a fraction thereof is led by inlet 18 to the interior of the gas-tight instrument housing 15 and acts on the exterior face of a flexible bellows 7 sealed from the atmosphere and having a grooved movable end 10 engaging a roller 12 on a lever 13 connected at 14 to the pivot of the indicating needle 5. Alternatively the pressure may be fed to the interior of the bellows 7 and the housing 15 evacuated.
