Class 7(4) [Also in Group XXXVII] A device for affecting angular adjustment of the contact breaker plate 33 of the interrupter mechanism of a spark ignition apparatus for an internal-combustion engine relative to a member (diaphragm 9) movable in response to engine intake suction, comprises a casing 7 carrying a rotatable but axially movable adjustment rod one end 34 of which is manually operable and the other end of which is threaded into a non-rotatable but axially movable nut 19 connected to the member movable in response to engine intake suction and a connector member 25 mounted on and axially movable with the rod and adapted to be connected with the contact breaker plate. The casing carrying the rod and the housing for the interrupter may be formed in one piece for example as a pressing or casting so that there is access to the contact breaker plate between the casing and the housing. Interengaged serrations 31 on a shoulder 23 and on the end of the connector 25 ensures that on rotation of the rod 21 an audible click is produced whereby the amount of adjustment can be gauged. The end of the rod 21 extending through the casing wall may also have axially spaced marker rings 34 thereon to provide a visual indication of the adjustment made.
