Abstract

1405224 Timing ignition ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 6 Nov 1973 [7 Nov 1972] 51464/73 Heading F1B A device for adjusting the ignition timing of an internal combustion engine includes a diaphragm box 14 subjected to induction pipe pressure and operable to displace an adjusting rod 12 along a longitudinal axis of the rod. The rod projects from the diaphragm box in a loose fitting manner and the portion of the rod which projects from the diaphragm box has a hole 13 for engagement with a pin 11 of an adjustable timing member of an ignition timing device of the engine. A guide piece 22 is detachably secured to the diaphragm box for sliding engagement with the adjusting rod and for maintaining the latter in engagement with the pin. The diaphragm box has a mounting bracket 24 in which the guide piece 22 is detachably secured. The portions 25, 26 serve for securing the mounting bracket 24 to the housing 10 which may be the housing of an ignition distributer (not shown). The guide piece may be in two parts 22 22". A magnetic pulse generator 1 is shown but a cam operated contact breaker may be employed.
