Abstract
546,261. Pressure gauges. GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION. Sept. 19, 1941, No. 12049. Convention date, Dec. 4, 1940. [Class 40 (i)] [Also in Group XIX] An electric pressure gauge comprises a chamber communicating with the oil manifold of an internal combustion engine and closed by a corrugated diaphragm acted on by spring fingers 51 projecting from a ring 48. A contactelement 114 sliding over a resistance 116 is carried by a pivoted framework which carries an adjustable stud 138 co-operating with a stud 56 on the diaphragm. Engagement between the two studs is maintained by a spring 100. The framework carrying the contact-arm can readily be bent to provide an initial adjustment in addition to that given by screwing the stud 138.
