774,594. Photo-electric control systems. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. May 20, 1955 [May 26, 1954], No. 15531/54. Class 40 (3). [Also in Groups XI and XII] The combustion of fuel in a duct 1 supplied with air by a blower is simulated for investigation purposes by spaced electric heaters 7, the circuits of each of which contains an amplifier 23 and a photo-electric cell 24. The cell receives light from a lamp 26 after reflection from the mirror 28 of a galvanometer G connected in series with a thermocouple 9 and an amplifier 29. The light passes through a screen 27 shaped to ensure the desired heat input/temperature relationship in the air stream.
