773,915. Continuous-casting. BOHLER & CO., AKT.-GES., GEB. May 6, 1955 [May 6, 1954], No. 13158/55. Class 83 (1). [Also in Group XXIV] A lowering-roll 4, for continuously-cast billets 7, is connected to a shaft 1 by a disc 2 fixed to the shaft and having peripheral teeth engaging teeth 5 on the inside of the roll 4. The peripheral faces of the teeth on the disc are convex so that the roll can be tilted relatively to the shaft axis. If only one billet 7 is to be lowered, resilient rings 6 at the ends of the roll limit the tilting movement, but with two billets the rings 6 are not used.
