Abstract

773,564. Switch cases. SIMPLEX ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. Feb. 2, 1956 [Feb. 3, 1955], No. 3284/55. Class 38(5) In order to correctly align an electric switch in a wall box the box is provided with a lug 16 having a slot 20 and a gap 22 communicating with the slot. An opposite lug 15 is provided with a threaded aperture 18 into which is screwed a screw 19 holding the switch cover 14. A second screw 21 carying a nut 23 extends through the slot 20 so that the switch may be pivoted about screw 19. The gap 22 enables the screw 21 to be passed into the slot 20 when fitting the switch. The switch is provided with a second pair of lugs 15, 16 to accomodate different types of switch. The lugs 15 may be replaced by slotted lugs similar to the lugs 16, and the screws may be disposed with their heads innermost. Knockouts 13 are provided for the insertion of leads.
