[Also in Group XXXIV] In a brake lining securing means the lining and brake lining positioning member are provided with abutting inner faces with aligned holes therein, the hole in one of the members being connter-bored from its outer face, and provided with a coiled spring, having a conical shape at one end seated in the counter bore, in engagement with the holes extending between the members to secure them together. In the embodiment illustrated applied to a disc brake 1 a plurality of brake lining blocks 16 are secured to axially movable non-rotatable brake positioning members 5 by means of a plurality of coiled springs shaped as shown in Figs. 2 and 3 which are compressed into holes 15 in annular piston 6 of the brake positioning members 5 by means of a tool which abuts tang portion 20 of spring 19. The positioning action of the tool exerted upon the tang 20 of the spring 19 also serves to draw the conical shaped end 21 tightly against the counter bored hole in the brake lining block 16 so that the spring 19 will secure the brake lining block to the brake lining positioning member 5 with a slightly resilient action.
