Abstract

772,460. Commutators for dynamo-electric machines. HOOVER, Ltd. Aug. 5, 1955 [Aug. 20, 1954], No. 24364/54. Class 35. A moulded commutator is provided with risers 14 for the attachment of armature connections by gouging them out with chisels 24 before the segments are separated by saw-cutting. If desired, the whole width of the segment may be gouged up and the chip saw-cut. The armature connections may be soldered, or for heavy wires, the risers may be pinched to produce a cold pressure welded joint.
