Abstract

772,368. Lift trucks. GRANT, LYON & CO., Ltd. July 27, 1955 [Aug. 19, 1954], No. 24118/54. Class 78 (3). [Also in Group XXVIII] A support for laying pipe sections comprises a trolley-like base 1 adapted to be displaced on rails 7, an upright 2 on and located centrally of the width of the base, and a cantilever 3 extending parallel to and over the base. A manuallyoperable device effects vertical adjustment of the cantilever. As shown, the base comprises spaced cross-bars 5 connected to side-arms 4 fitted with wheels 6 which ride in channel rails 7, the upright being formed of two members 8 extending at the lower ends thereof between the bars 5. The cantilever 3 passes between the members 8, is provided with rollers 14, 15 bearing on the faces of those members, and is adjusted vertically by a screw-jack 11 mounted on brackets 9 attached to the upright; the jack is operated by a hand wheel 16.
