772,312. Camouflage material. EKMAN, C. D., and BRUNDIN, B., [trading as EKMAN & BRUNDIN]. Feb. 3, 1955 [Feb. 3, 1954], No. 3254/55. Class 140. Camouflage material is made by spraying on to an open mesh net material of natural or synthetic fibre yarn, synthetic monofilaments, e.g. of polyamide, or steel wire, a fibre-forming solution of a synthetic resin, e.g. polyvinyl acetate or a polyvinyl-chlorinated rubber product, so as to form a fibre layer undercoat and then coating, by painting or spraying with a film forming solution of a synthetic resin, e.g. a synthetic rubber. Both sides of the net material are preferably coated. The mesh width may be 4-8 cm. The knots of monofil net material may be treated with adhesive. A perforated product may be produced by spraying alternately with fibre- or film-forming resin solution and gas under pressure. - Alternatively a flame may be passed over the material after coating with the film-forming resin. Camouflage dyes or pigments, preferably a synthetic resin dye, may be applied in admixture with the film-forming solution or may be applied subsequently. One side may be painted with conventional colours and the other side painted white.
