Abstract

772,096. Engine assisted cycles. ZUNDAPPWERKE GES. Feb. 28, 1955 [Oct. 20, 1954], No. 5891/55. Classes 79(3) and 136(1). In a light motor cycle having a fuel tank 7 located near to, and in part at a lower level than, the steering head 4 and a receptacle 12 located between the frame 1 and the back mudguard 11, the tank 7 and receptacle 12 are detachably connected to the frame. The receptacle 12 may either be a luggage receptacle (as shown) or an additional fuel tank. As shown the cycle frame 1 comprises members 2, 3 the steering head 4, and a pedal crank bearing 6. The fuel tank 7 is provided with lugs adapted to be connected to an eye 8 on the frame 1, and the tank is hollowed to receive the frame member 2, clamping means 9 with the interposition of an elastic member 10 being also provided. The luggage receptacle 12 which may be made of sheet steel, aluminium or synthetic plastic has a hinged and lockable cover 15 on the inside of which are foam rubber insets for mounting tools. The receptacle 12 is shown connected to the frame member 3 at 20, 21 and further clamping means may be provided on a frame member 22 or the mudguard 11. The receptacle 12 is flanged at 24 to provide a fastening for a dress guard 26.
