Class 100(1) A feeler for use in conjunction with feeding means for tacky strip material A comprises an inclined table 1 over which the material is drawn and an arm 3 pivoted about an axis 4 perpendicular to the plane of the table, the arm contacting the material as it is drawn under the arm such that the arm is pulled upwardly by frictional contact but on expiration of the material the arm slides downwardly to contact a lining material for the tacky material or to contact the table 1. As shown, the table 1 is inclined at approximately 40 degrees and has guiding rollers 2 at each end. The arm 3 carries a weighted shoe 5 at one end which engages the material A being fed, such that a tail 7 is held apart from a micro switch 8 which controls warning lights and means to stop the feed, the micro switch being actuated when the arm slides downwards upon expiration of the material A. The arm 3 may be carried by a hinged plate to permit riding over wrinkles in the material.
