Abstract

770,220. Mixing-machines. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. Aug. 11, 1955 [Oct. 21, 1954], No. 30294/54. Class 86 Mixing apparatus comprises a cylindrical container 14, a shaft 13 adapted to rotate in the chamber 14, and perforated plate-like members 17a, 17b mounted on the shaft in a swash-plate manner so that they obturate the bore of the cylinder. The plates 17a, 17b are elliptical and are perforated with holes 18 arranged in staggered relationship. In mixing dispersions with foamed rubber latex, the latter is pumped through an inlet 21 and zinc oxide dispersion and a dispersion of silicofluoride gelling agent injected through inlets 22, 23 respectively. The cylinder 14 has an outlet port 15.
