Abstract

769,136. Roll holders. NIERHAUS, H., and NIERHAUS, W., [trading as NIERHAUS, H. A. [Firm of]]. May 2, 1955, No. 12692/55. Class 18. A holder for a roll of ribbon &c. comprises a sleeve e on which the ribbon is mounted, the ribbon being positioned between a flange f secured to the sleeve e and a flange c having a portion b upon which the sleeve e is rotatable. A member i prevents separation of the parts. The flange c has an extension g through a gap in which the ribbon is withdrawn. The flange f has serrations f<SP>1</SP> to assist rotation by hand. A series of holders are mounted on a stand, either by a rod (not shown) fitting a non- circular hole c<SP>11</SP> in each to prevent rotation of the flange c, or by projections on parallel rails k entering recesses in the extension g. One projection comprises a spring-pressed ball to facilitate removal of the holders.
