Abstract

768,217. Centralizer and scratcher for well casing. BAKER OIL TOOLS, Inc. April 12, 1955 [April 26, 1954], No. 10541/55. Class 85. A centralizer has at least one supporting collar 30 having an annular raised channel 15 and outwardly bowed springs 12 the ends of which extend through openings into the channel 15 and are secured in position by plug welds 25 through holes 24 in the channel 15. The example described has two similar supporting collars 30 of sheet metal each of which has flanges 13, 14 and may be in two parts held together by pins 32 passing through hinge knuckles 31. In a modification, Fig. 5, a well scratcher is formed on the upper collar 30, ends 48 of U-shaped wires extending through upwardly directed holes in a ridge 44.
