Abstract
767,917. Floors. ROSENDAHL, R. March 30, 1955, No. 9294/55. Class 20(4) A floor covering comprises a layer from 4-6 mm. thick of xylolith consisting of caustic burnt magnesite, magnesium chloride, and a filler, e.g. of sawdust, which is applied to a "freely floating" under layer of asphalt separated from a base by an intermediate layer of paper, felt, or glass wool. The floor is made by spreading dry sand over the surface of a mastic asphalt base while still hot, and applying the xylolith coating to the asphalt after the latter has cooled, the asphalt base being washed with magnesium chloride solution and magnesite before the xylolith coating is applied.
