Abstract

<PICT:0766190/III/1> Articles are sterilized by ultraviolet radiation in range 1800 -3000 and ozone produced by the radiation in the presence of air and at a temperature of 80 DEG C., maintained by the energy from the lamp. Articles 9 are conveyed through tunnel 1 on an endless steel wire 2 and irradiated by high pressure mercury discharge tubes 13 which emit some radiation at least in the range 1800-2000 .
