766,041. Earth-working apparatus. FERGUSON, INC., H. Aug. 25, 1952 [Aug. 23, 1951], No. 21245/52. Class 68 (1). [Also in Group X] An earth-working unit 18 is so secured to a hollow frame 15 as to permit of angular adjustment of the unit about an axis 52 to a number of defined positions and is rigidly held in any chosen one of said positions by a detent unit of which a spring-biased plunger 69 is slidably mounted on the frame 15 to engage a toothed plate 62 secured on the unit 18 and is withdrawn from said engagement by a manually actuated linkage 71, 76, 80 disposed within the frame 15. The shaping of the engaging surfaces of the plunger 69 and the plate 62 so that wear is automatically compensated for forms the subject matter of Specification 766,042, which is referred to. The unit 18 comprises a scraper blade with or without side wings 110 and scarifier teeth 50 secured to the back of the blade. Specification 470,069 [Group I] also is referred to.
