Abstract

50 parts of a mixture of 32 to 12 parts of diallyl delta4-3,6-endomethylene tetrahydrophthalate with 18 to 38 parts of triallyl cyanurate is copolymerized with 50 parts of a "Knapp alkyd", i.e. the reaction product of a glycol, an alpha, beta-unsaturated dicarboxylic acid (e.g. maleic acid) and dicyclopentadiene. Benzoyl peroxide may be used as catalyst and the "Knapp alkyd" may contain hydroquinone as inhibitor. The resins may be used for making panelling reinforced with glass fibres and laminates from impregnated glass cloth for aircraft heating ducts and radomes. Specification 721,249 is referred to.
