764,035. Alternators. LICENTIA PATENTVERWALTUNGS-GES. Jan. 14, 1955 [Jan. 25, 1954], No. 1214/55. Addition to 745,770. Class 35. The compound exciting arrangement for alternators by means of chokes and rectifiers as described in the parent Specification is improved and made applicable to salient-pole machines by an additional pre-magnetization control of the chokes. As shown for one of the three phases, the choke core D<SP>r</SP> carries a current compounding winding W<SP>2</SP> and a voltage compounding winding W<SP>1</SP> connected to the star-point through rectifier G which feeds the field winding of the generator SM. As shown for a voltage-sensitive arrangement according to the invention, additional windings W<SP>3</SP> on the core are supplied with current in dependence on the line voltage from a device R, e.g. containing non-linear resistors, this current serving to pre-magnetize the core and thus provide an additional stabilizing influence. Instead of regulation for constant voltage, the pre-magnetization may be made dependent on the volt-drop across coil W<SP>1</SP>, or the excitation current, or load.
