Abstract
762,408. Measuring fluid flow; proportional-flow apparatus; fluid-pressure servomotor control systems. ASKANIA-WERKE AKT.-GES. May 31, 1954 [June 4, 1953], No. 16091/54. Classes 54, 69 (1) and 135. The gas flow in a main conduit 1 having a throttle 2 is measured indirectly by ensuring a proportional flow in pipe 4 having an auxiliary throttle 7, the flow being through pipe 4 to a main diaphragm regulator 6 and through its valve 10 which ensures substantially equal pressures behind the throttles 2 and 7, through conduit 11 to valve 23 controlled by diaphragm 22 to maintain a substantially constant lowpressure drop across valve 10, through a capillary shell 15 the pressure at the lower end of which is measured by meter 17 to indicate the instantaneous rate of flow, and to atmosphere via quantity meter 16.
