Abstract

1336253 Fluid regulation GAZ DE FRANCE 11 March 1971 6598/71 Heading G3H [Also in Division F4] Supplying gas from a source 10 to a utilization line 11 wherein the pressure Pa is to be maintained constant and at a lower value then the pressure Po of the source 10, is effected by interposing between the source 10 and the utilization line 11 a pressure regulator 12, a sonic nozzle 16 and a probe 14 which controls a pilot circuit 13 of the pressure regulator 12. Pressure and temperature sensors 40, 41 are connected to the line 15 between the regulator 12 and the nozzle 16 and serve to feed information to an integrator 42 which gives an accurate measurement of either the volumetric or mass flow-rate through the line 15. The maximum flow rate through the line 15 is determined by the characteristics of the regulator 12 and the nozzle 16, Fig.2 (not shown). In modifications, Figs.3, 5, 6, (not shown) the single nozzle 16 may be replaced by two nozzles arranged in parallel and connected to the line 15, Fig.3 (not shown). Furthermore, the arrangement of Fig. 1 may be modified by connecting between points upstream of the regulator 12 and down stream of the nozzle 16 either one additional nozzle Fig. 5 (not shown) or a plurality of additional nozzles arranged in parallel Fig.6 (not shown), each of the additional nozzles having a valve downstream thereof, the valve or valves being automatically operable to cut-in or cut-out the additional nozzle or nozzles.
