Abstract

761,922. Road-marking studs. GIDELITE, Ltd. May 25, 1955 [June 25, 1954], No. 18762/54. Class 3 (2). A light-reflecting, or other road stud or road marking strip is located in a bore formed in the roadway by a resilient sleeve 9 of indiarubber adapted to be expanded thereagainst by a screw 11. The stud shown comprises a locating flange 2 and a number of reflex reflectors 4 which are retained in a cap 1 by a filling 8 of vinyl chloride. The screw 11 may have a slotted head or be of the Allen (Registered Trade Mark) type. The members 2, 9 and 10 may be bonded together or interlocked as by inter-engaging ears or serrations. The cap 1 may be made of stainless steel, rustless iron or nylon and may be grooved to direct rainwater over the reflectors which may be white or coloured. The reflectors comprise bulls eye lenses backed with light-reflecting material such as metal foil or a sprayed-on coating.
