Abstract

761,767. Friction grip fastenings. ERICSSON TELEPHONES, Ltd., and RADFORD, W. A. June 27, 1953, No. 17881/53. Class 44. [Also in Groups XXVIII, XXXII and XL (a)] In a mounting device for a plurality of cylindrical objects such as thermionic or coldcathode discharge tubes 7, a resilient ring 3 surrounds each object and is compressed between two plates 1 and 2, so that the object is gripped and supported in a position normal to the plates, and projecting through apertures therein. In the embodiment shown, 1 is the front panel of a chassis, a rear plate 2 being attached by bolts 4. Tightening the bolts compresses all the rubber rings 3, which may be of a specified hardness, and causes them to grip the tubes 7 firmly. A thin-walled part 6 of each ring may project through the aperture in the panel 1. Specification 712,171, [Group XL (a)], is referred to.
