Abstract

760,330. Loom shuttles. HODGKINSONS SHUTTLES, Ltd. Sept. 13, 1954 [June 12, 1953], No. 16198/53. Class 142 (2). To enable bobbins for automatic bobbinchanging looms to be used in non-automatic looms; a shuttle has a pivoted peg 15 whereby the weaver can exert sufficient leverage to force the rings on the bobbin head into the spring clip 9. The top and bottom edges of the shank of the clip are gripped between top and bottoms jaws of a retainer 11, the assembly being accommodated in an undercut recess 3 in the shuttle. The peg 15 pivots on a bolt 19, and the top jaw of the retainer is slotted at 21 to allow the peg to be turned up for loading. Alternatively, the peg pivots between lugs on the end 11a of the retainer, a screw 22 being then required to hold the assembly in place.
