Abstract
831,419. Tensioning weft in loom shuttles. HELD, H., and WAGNER, C. July 25, 1958 [Feb. 13, 1958], No. 23997/58. Class 142(2) Weft is tensioned by passing between two plates 5, 6 having inclined grooves on their abutting faces and pressed together by springs 13. The abutting faces are coated with a wear-resistant material. The springs are enclosed in U-shaped members 7 and adusted by screws 16 in a U-shaped body 9. A synthetic plastic insert 20 prevents unintentional rotation of the screws. The grooves direct the weft downwards on to a pin 10 during weaving. The shuttle is of the type having an extractor hook for the cop remanent. The tensioning device is secured in the shuttle by a single, screw. Outward movement of the plates 5, 6 is limited by a member 24.
