Abstract

1428221 Gripper shuttles ELITEX-ZAVODY TEXTILNIHO STROJIRENSTVI GENERALNI REDITELSTVI 23 Aug 1973 [28 Sept 1972] 40010/73 Heading D1E A double acting gripper shuttle has a pivoted lever 9 whose ends 10 alternately clamp the weft against a side wall surface 3 of the shuttle, the lever 9 being biassed so that one of its ends clamps the weft by spring or resilient strips 14 which provide an overcentre action, about the lever pivot 8. Slots 17 are provided in the upper and lower walls of the shuttle to guide the weft, which is held transversely to the path of the shuttle, into the grippers. The lever 9 is pivoted to release the inserted weft and simultaneously grip the presented weft, by a stationary abutment 20 which act on lever 9 as the sley moves forward at beat up.
