759,258. Preventing corrosion and incrustation. SOC. ANON. DES USINES CHAUSSON. Sept. 9, 1952 [Sept. 10, 1951], No. 22642/52. Class 123(1) [Also in Group XIII] A composition for inhibiting corrosion and preventing formation of scale on metal parts in contact with liquid comprises an anti-scale product consisting of (a) a cellulose ether, or (b) triglycolamidic acid or a salt thereof, or (c) iminotetracetic ethylene, or (d) water-soluble salts of complex compounds of phosphoric acid, and an inhibitor mixed with one or more borates, e.g. borax, and/or with one or more higher metal oxides e.g. of bismuth or manganese. The above composition may be added to an anti-freeze liquid or glycol or polyalcohol or a derivative thereof. The cellulose ether may be methyl- or ethylcellulose or carboxymethyl cellulose. and the phosphoric acid salt may be an alkaine hexametaphoshate. The inhibitor may be a chromate, dichromate or nitrite, e.g. an alkaline chromate.
