[Also in Group XXX] A foundry installation comprising a continuously - moving endless-belt or like conveyer 1, 2 for transporting mould-boxes 3 between the moulding station or stations 4, a casting station, and an emptying station 17, is characterized by a track 5, 6, for conveying the boxes independently of the speed of the conveyer, provided between the or each moulding station for the upper and lower boxes and the conveyer, along which track cores and core-supports are inserted into the previously-formed moulds, and the upper and lower mould boxes are fitted together. The continuously-running conveyer comprises interconnected trolleys 2 on a track 1. Moulded boxes travel from the rotary moulding-machines 4 on constantly-driven roller-tracks 5 to a lower intermediate roller-track 6. The-bottom mouldboxes, formed on the machine 4 to the right of Fig. 1, are automatically transferred to the track 6 by a parallelogram mechanism 8, Fig. 2, and advanced by a compressed-air cylinder 9. Cones and chaplets are positioned during the travel of the box on the track 6, with the aid of a chaplet-setting machine 10. The top boxes are then placed on the bottom boxes at 11, and the completed moulds travel to a lowering mechanism 8 which transfers them to the conveyer 1, 2. After casting, the boxes pass through a cooling-tunnel 12. A parallelogram lifting-mechanism 14 sets down the cooled boxes on supporting rollers 15 from which they are pushed to the emptying station 17 by a compressed-air cylinder 16. The empty boxes are then moved forward by driven rollers 18 to the stations 19, 20 at the moulding-machines.
