Abstract

758,029. Filter presses. SERVICE (ENGINEERS), Ltd. Jan. 21, 1955 [Jan. 21, 1954], No. 1775/54. Class 46. In a filter press having trays 10 each suspended on two rollers 14, one roller of each tray running along each side of the bottom flange 20 of an overhead girder with the central web 21 of the girder between them, a third roller 17 is provided on each tray centrally arranged with respect to the other two but ahead of or behind them (according to the direction of travel of the tray) the third roller running in a guide 22 on the underside of the girder so that it acts as a steadying roller and prevents the trays from becoming cross-wound as they are moved along the girder. The roller 17 may be mounted on a track arm 15 carried by the suspension bracket 11 carrying the rollers 14. The head of the bolt 19 securing the track arm is accommodated in a recess 18 in one arm of the bracket 11 and each arm 11 is formed with a recess so that the track arms of adjacent trays-can be attached at opposite sides of the bracket alternately (Fig. 3, not shown).
