A dwelling house is completed around a central pre-fabricated unit comprising walls 1, 2, 3 enclosing fittings such as a refrigerator 9, refuse evacuator 11, range 12, floor G, bath room D all with pipe, &c. connections coupled to connections in a foundation on which the unit is secured. The central unit is composed of outer casing panels 1, 2, 3 secured by top and bottom surround frames 7 and 8, and its shape may be polygonal or curvilinear. The foundations comprise blocks 16 preferably standing above the ground and located at the corners of the unit. A roof E with window and chimney pots 24 is placed on top. Figs. 4 and 5 show the central unit surrounded with added extensions. Suitable central units H, Fig. 10, may be placed on top of each other, such units containing staircases 33, Fig. 9.
