Abstract
756,521. Optical systems; photographic cameras. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP OPTISCHE INDUSTRIE DE OUDE DELFT. Sept. 22, 1954 [Sept. 23, 1953], No. 27425/54. Classes 97 (1) and 98 (1). An image-forming mirror system for use with linear magnification or reduction of less than 1 : 5 comprises a concave spherical mirror axially aligned with at least one correcting element, and a plane mirror perpendicular to that axis, light from the long conjugator focus of the system being reflected first by the outer zone of the plane mirror and then by inter zone of the concave mirror to form an image. The Figure shows the system applied to a camera for indirect X-ray photography in which the image of a fluorescent screen 2 is formed on a film 8 by the optical system. This comprises a negative meniscus lens 3 forming the correcting element which receives the light from the screen 2. After passage through a conical lens 4 the light is reflected by the inter zones of a plane mirror 5 on to the concave mirror 6 which focuses the light upon the film 8. Baffles 12, 13 are provided to prevent direct light from the screen 2 reaching the film. The correcting element may be located between the concave and plane mirrors. Specifications 637,645 and 638,975 are referred to.
