Abstract

756,387. Kinematograph apparatus. DEPARTMENT OF SUPPLY, SECRETARY OF. Feb. 3, 1954 [Feb. 13, 1953], No. 3223/54. Class 97 (1). Intermittent film-feed mechanism comprises film sprockets, driven at equal peripheral speeds, before and after the gate, and means to vary inversely the sizes of the film loops between the sprockets and the gate. The form shown comprises continuously driven sprockets 5, 6 between which the film passes over rollers 7, 8, 9, 10 carried on frames 11, 12 reciprocated vertically in opposite phase by cams 15, 18. In one part of the cycle the movements of the rollers neutralizes the movement of the film at the gate 14 or, if desired, a residual movement, forwards or backwards, may. be produced. The film gate is preferably of the kind which grips the film when stationary. One of the roller carrying frames may be stationary. More than two such frames may be used. Specifications 194,031 and 217,292, [both in Class 97 (i)], are referred to.
