Abstract

756,094. Anchor-nuts. UNITED-CARR FASTENER CORPORATION. May 5, 1954 [May 25, 1953], No. 13164/54. Class 89 (1). A nut 10, Fig. 1; for snapping engagement into a panel-opening 12, Fig. 5, comprises a base 20 with spaced arms 22 extending therefrom on one side and provided with shoulders 24, and a screw-receiving portion 32 between the arms with a central cylindrical bore 34. The nut is pressed into the opening and the shoulders engage the sides thereof, a member, e.g. a shelf-runner 18, being attached to the panel 14 by a screw 16 which cuts a thread in bore 34. Portion 32 may have slots 38 and the underside of the head may have portions 26 which enter the panel-opening to align the device therein. Webs 28 connect the arms to the portions 26. The nut is made from resilient synthetic organic plastic material, e.g. a polyamide, polyethylene, cellulose acetate butyrate, &c.
