Abstract

755,859. Wind motors. WURZBACH, R. Nov. 26, 1953 [Nov. 28, 1952], No. 32882/53. Class 110(3) [Also in Group XXXIII] A vane 1 for a wind motor has a slot 4 adjacent the trailing edge 3 of the vane of which at least the rear part is hollow, and an auxilliary spar 5 apertured along its length arranged between a main spar 6 and the slot, and a flap 2 hinged to the vane .and provided with a slot 8 parallel to its trailing edge 7 and an apertured spar 9. Fluid may be drawn in through the slots and withdrawn from the spaces between the auxiliary spars and the main spar 6. The auxiliary spars may be constructed as in Fig. 5, in which spanwise rods 13, 14, are interconnected by stiffening panels 15, 16 suitably apertured at 17, 18.
