755,756. Aerials; radio receiving apparatus. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. March 12, 1954 [March 17, 1953], No. 7295/54. Classes 40 (5) and 40 (7). A radio receiver comprises one or more frame aerials 2, 3 mounted within the receiver cabinet and a high-frequency transformer comprising coils 7, 8 wound upon an insulating ferromagnetic core 6 and so disposed with respect to to the frame-aerial coils that the signals picked up by the aerial coils and by the transformer coils augment one another. The transformer is wound upon a ferrite core and is mounted with its axis horizontal and approximately perpendicular to the planes of the aerial coils. The aerial coils 2, 3 may be used separately or in conjunction.
