Abstract

702,525. Aerials. ELECTRIC & MUSICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. April 25, 1951 [April 29, 1950], No. 10589/50. Class 40 (7) . The mains lead conductors 1 and 2 supplying current to a television receiver 3 are utilized as a resonant antenna by insertion of spaced inductance coils 6, 7 and 8, 9 such that the length of conductors so defined is effectively one half wavelength at the frequency of operation of the receiver. The coils 6, 7 and 8, 9 are wound so as to be resonant at the said frequency. A pickup coil 11 is coupled with coils 6 and 7 to feed signals to the receiver via a coaxial cable 10. The coupling coil 11 may comprise a few turns closely wound and is preferably located at a voltage node on the coils 6 and 7. The conductors 1 and 2 are preferably embedded in common insulating material and the coils 6, 7, and 8, 9 are preferablv formed by coiling the conductors 1 and 2 together instead of individually. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 656,853 and 660,656.
