[Also in Groups XVIII, XXVIII and XXIX] A liquid supply pump of the kind capable of supplying alternatively a liquid or a mixture of this liquid with another liquid or liquids, comprises a hose through which a liquid is supplied to a discharge nozzle which hose is provided with one or more auxiliary conduits extending along its length, one end of each conduit communicating with the nozzle and the other end being connected to the outlet of an auxiliary pump for liquid to be added to that supplied through the hose. Apparatus for delivering petrol, or petrol mixed with a measured quantity of one of two additional liquids consists of a petrol supply pump (not shown) and two auxiliary reciprocating pumps 17, 18, Fig. 1, for the additional liquids driven from a rotating shaft 37, Fig. 7, of the petrol supply pump, through a sliding pinion clutch mechanism 39 and a crank shaft 78 adapted to be selectively engaged at its end 79, Fig. 8, with one of two piston rods 82 of the auxiliary pumps 17, 18. A counting device 91, which indicates the amount of additional liquid pumped, is actuated at each stroke of the pump by a lateral projection 89 on the connecting rod 78. The pumps 17, 18 deliver into conduits 19, 20 respectively, and through flow indicators 21, 22 (see Group XXIX) into auxiliary conduits 25, 26 attached along the length of the petrol supply hose 4, internally as in Fig. 2, or externally, Fig. 4 (not shown). The outlet ends of the conduits 25, 26 which are controlled by spring loaded ball retention valves 28, open into the hose discharge nozzle 5 through diffusion means comprising a plurality of perforations 30. The auxiliary conduits may be formed within the wall of the hose. A resting hook 67 receives the nozzle 5 when the apparatus is out of use, and a lever 61 which projects from the casing 1 at 65 is displaced as the nozzle is placed on the hook 67 to disengage the sliding pinion clutch drive to the pumps 17, 18. A shoulder 69 in a spring loaded lever 70 engages a projection 68 on the lever 61 to retain the clutch disengaged until the lever 61 is released subsequently by moving the outer end 74 of the lever 70 downwards when it is again desired to deliver petrol mixed with an additive. The mechanism of Fig. 7 may be adapted for a pump arranged to supply only one additional liquid, in which case the rod 78 is pivotally connected to the piston rod of a single pump for the one additional liquid.
