Class 38(5) A switch adapted to be mounted on the handle bar of a motor cycle or similar vehicle has a casing 3 mounted on the handle bar 1 through which leads 5 pass and which contains a fixed switch body 7 carrying contacts 27 and 30, insulating discs 8, 9, and 11, and a contact ring 10 rotatably mounted on a fixed insulating disc 22 and adapted with projections 26 and 32 to engage the contacts 27 and 30. A handle grip 3 rotatably mounted on the handle bar has an end flange plate 15 and is kept in position by a spring 17 located in a groove 18. Members 8, 9, 22, and 11 are fixed to the member 7 by screws 12. The ring 10 is rotated by means of a lug 21 engaging a notch 20 in the flange 15 and is located in any of several positions by a spring-loaded detent 23 in the disc 22 engaging notches 24, whereupon various combinations of contacts 27 and 30 are bridged. The disc 11 has a cut-away sector 25 which limits the movement of the ring 10. A press button 6 in the casing controls the horn circuit. The discs 8, 9, and 22 may be integral with the member 7. Instead of a handle grip, control of the switch may be effected by finger movement on an extension of the lug 21 passing through the plate 11.
