[Also in Group XXIX] A safety-panel for fuel tanks in which coversecuring means are adapted to shear and release a cover under excessive pressure in the tank and hence reduce damage to the tank comprises as shown a frusto-conical rim 4 disposed around an opening 3 in the tank 1, a cover 2 also having a frusto-conical rim 5 fitting inside the rim 4, an annular packing 13 compressed between the rims with a rolling action as the cover is forced into position, and cover-holding members 10 secured to supports 6 by shear-pins or rivets 11 and 12. The upper part of each support 6 may be bent outwards so that the face of the member 10 is substantially parallel to the rims 4 and 5 at this point.
